I am sharing this with our community to see if we can help Family Promise and the two families (with infants ) referenced here. Family Promise one of only 2 emergency shelters for families in WNY. 70% of their guests are children. FPWNY is run by Georgetown and JVC Alum Luanne Firestone. Prior to joining FPWNY, Luanne spent 12 years as campus minister at Canisius College. Since Lu has been involved, OJB has tried to connect other Jesuit alumni who may want to support FP. Please see the list below for items that you may be able to assist with. Please share and encourage others to join in supporting FPWNY. Donations may be dropped off at 75 Hickory Street Buffalo NY. 716-771-3007. Monetary donations can be made in their website at www.fpwny.org

A special Feast of St Ignatius episode...Just like like when the Simpsons appeared on Family Guy, but less offensive... they actually said that... Jesuitical hosts Zac Davis and Ashley McKinless. Are they the Simpsons or Family Guy ? Just listen to find out. https://podcasts.apple.com//amdg-a-jesuit-po/id1473033613

The Mass will begin at 5:15 at St. Michael’s Downtown Jesuit Church At 4:30 pm Mr. Mark Di Giampaolo will offer a recital on the newly installed organ in the church in honor of the Feast. The organ will be blessed and dedicated as part of the liturgy. Members of the Jesuit Community will concelebrate the Mass. Fr. Ben Fiore, SJ, Pastor will be the Presider. Fr. Fred Betti, SJ. , Associate Pastor, will serve as the Homilist. Members of One Jesuit Buffalo will assist in the Mass. Friends, Please gather with us in person or in spirit on the Feast of St. Ignatius this year. While we are unable to enjoy a street festival after the mass celebration, it is as important as ever to stay together in community to support and encourage each other. We have a survey that will go out separately in order to help us take learn what our community needs to meet our daily challenges. We also have 2 days of service coming up on August 8 and August 15 as we will work together to help reorganize some spaces at Nativity Miguel School to meet the new social distancing requirements for their re-opening for the 2020-21 school year. We will meet at NMS on these days from 9-3pm. More information to follow. We will be selling vintage IggyFest Tshirts after mass - proceeds will go to Nativity Miguel School. You may also click the donate button here to help us raise the funds that we will miss from the IggyFest. The School needs funds now re-engineer some things to keep the students and faculty safe in the Fall. We pray that you are all well. Please continue to pray for each other in the coming days. AMDG

Friends, Tomorrow 7/31 is the Feast of St. Ignatius ! We hope you can join us for a celebration mass at St. Michael’s Downtown Jesuit Church for Iggy w/o the Fest. We will have a prelude musical performance at 4:30PM followed by mass at 5;15PM. Alumni from One Jesuit Buffalo will be on hand at the front door selling some vintage IggyFest gear (T-shirt and glasses) to benefit Nativity Migual School. Nativity Miguel is benefits from the IggyFest celebration that we a...re unable to hold this year. Many of you buy tickets or sponsor some items for us in order to provide this important support. I am sure you are not suprised that the school nd students need help now more than ever. The expense of reopening in this environment is significantly increased and many of the student will need special support as well. Past IggyFest raised about 10k each. Please consider helping us deliver this amount once again, event without the ‘fest. You can give a few different ways: * Facebook - One Jesuit Buffalo. We have set up a donate button. All these funds go to NMS in full. We have already raised $550.00 through this channel. * Nativity Miguel website. https://NativityMiguel2020.ggo.bid NMS has an auction that will be open through tomorrow along with an opportunity to offer a "fund a future in any amount you desire. * Checks. You could bring a check to mass tomorrow or send a check to Nativity Miguel School directly. Please make checks our to Nativity Miguel School. Please indicate IggyFest 2020 so they know that the donation goes toward our goal of 10k. Of course, if you have another idea about how you could help us or the school - or how we can help you - please let us know. I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow. If anyone wants to help us with the sale of t-shirts and such - please reach out - we could use a few volunteers. Happy Feast day to all Jesuit alumni and friends, John Tomczak
