Stark is a bit nervous as many #rescuedogs are and learning how to be comfortable with new dogs and new people and new experiences is an important part of his future success in his new home. For years I worked retail and Black Friday was never a day that I’d be able to #optoutside Now things are different and I’m out in the woods with these wonderful dogs every day rain or shine and I absolutely could not be more #thankful ! This crew is mostly the quarantine pups, young and only with me for a few weeks or months, and it’s great to see them binding with each other. They’ll grow up together and will get to spend many days in the woods having fun. Let’s get a big welcome to the pack for Monty!!! We ran into Monty (a quarantine rescue about a year old) while he was walking at our favorite spot to take the pack. While mom and dad were a bit hesitant about giving Monty some freedom it was clear that he wanted to play so they allowed him a bit of time with my group. He got along famously with the youngsters and so they contacted me to take him on his first #dogadventure today. Even though the weather was awful the dogs did...n’t mind and, as you can see by swiping, Monty had a terrific time with us! After two days of consistent rain the weather took a sharp turn north and dumped about 3 of early season snow on us this morning. Dogs love snow. I mean the really love it!!! Everyone was running around, playing and rolling in the snow. I was glad to not be walking in the rain!!! It’s two for Tuesday at #mmspets Twice a week we do our regular, exhaust your dog so you get some peace, morning hike followed by a slightly more mellow,still tire your dog out, senior hike in the afternoon. The foggy weather has matched my mood the past couple of days. It’s creepy #spookyseason in the forest. The dogs are crazy happy to have cooler wetter playtime. As the veil between worlds thins I’ve had some bad news with clients losing their battle with cancer and others possibly starting theirs. I always cherish every moment with the animals I care for because you just never know when it will end. Welcome to the pack sisters from other mothers Maggie and Ruby! They went on their first hike today and their mom reported that they were very satisfied (in other words they slept all afternoon ) Maggie is a two year old hound mix that will take some time to train off leash.
